We're excited to announce that Backyard Island Escape now carries the full line of Infratech electric infrared heaters. Infratech has been building heaters in the USA for decades, and their fixtures are a favorite of architects, designers, and homeowners who want outdoor warmth that looks as good as it feels.
If you've been thinking about extending your patio season, here's what makes Infratech different and how to choose the right one.
How Infrared Heat Works
Most patio heaters warm the air around them, and that warm air drifts away with the first breeze. Infratech heaters work differently. They use infrared energy to warm the people and objects in front of them, much like the sun warms you on a cool day. The result is heat you feel instantly, even when it's breezy.
They're also quiet and clean: no flame, no fumes, no odor, and no propane tanks to refill. Once installed, you just flip a switch.
Which Infratech Series Is Right for You?
- W-Series: Infratech's classic single element heater. It can be recessed into a ceiling with a flush mount frame for a clean, built-in look, or surface mounted.
- WD-Series: A high-output dual element version of the W-Series for larger spaces.
- C-Series: A sleek surface-mount heater with inset brackets that give it a floating look on walls, beams, and ceilings. Compatible with Motif decorative fascias.
- CD-Series: The dual element version of the C-Series for more heat in a single fixture.
- SL-Series Slimline: Infratech's most streamlined design, in stainless steel or all black.
Most models come in stainless steel, Marine Grade 316 stainless for coastal areas, and eight powder coat colors. Browse all Infratech heaters.
Plan Your Installation
Infratech heaters are hardwired, so a licensed electrician should handle installation. A little planning up front makes it easy:
- Size your space. Infratech's coverage area chart shows which wattage fits your patio.
- Choose your voltage. Most homes use 240V. Your electrician can confirm what's available.
- Pick a control. Options range from a simple on/off switch to dimmers, timers, and home automation panels. See our switches and controls.
- Choose your mounting. Wall, ceiling, flush mount, drop mount, or pole. See mounting and wiring.
You'll find the coverage chart, installation guides, heater drawings, color chart, product videos, and the full Infratech catalog on our Plan & Design Guides page.
